OUR TEAM

Tom McNall, CEO of Great Northern Stone

Tom McNall is an authority on terrazzo, tile and marble, and has a passion for stone and marble equaled only by his wealth of expertise and education in the field. He was taught personally by 3rd and 4th generation "Stone Men" from the "Old Country" in Italy. Tom offers the benefit of years of expertise and experience, directly, and through his team of highly trained employees. His long working relationships with product manufacturers, fabricators, trouble shooters, educators, editors, association directors and sellers of stone worldwide have both fed his passion for stone and marble and made him Canada’s foremost expert in the stone industry and now in all of North America.

For almost 6 years you could've heard Tom on the radio every 4th Saturday on "The Home Show With Mike Stubbs" on News Talk 1290 CJBK out of London ON. Tom currently writes articles for trade magazines such as Stone Business. Recently, he was elected to serve on the MIA Board of Directors. He does not consider what he does work because he enjoys doing it so much.

Tom's Quote: "What we do with stone is no different than what the Ancient Egyptians and Romans did - we just have better tools and electricity"

Greg Warren, VP and CFO

Greg was a graduate of UWO where he achieved a Bachelors Degree in Economics and went on to a career in banking and purchasing for over 13 years.  He entered into the stone business with Tom in 2004 and has helped GNS gain valuable corporate and commercial contacts and contracts. Greg has worked with our crews and knows the amount of work involved in doing the job right the first time.  Today he spends his time setting up jobs, training sales staff and keeping Tom out of trouble

Greg is a well respected family man and a leader in the local business community. GNS couldn't be who we are today without Greg!

Greg's Quote: "If you want to have a big business, start acting and thinking like one!"

Jane Russell - Office Manager

Contrary to popular belief, Jane is not Tom's wife. Nor is she the movie star of the same name.  But who else could keep him organized and ensure that he keeps his appointments? Jane is the chief bean counter and personal assistant to Tom. She is what keeps the GNS machine well oiled.

Jane's Quote: "Tom - get those receipts in!"

Humberto Reveles - GNS South Texas

Humberto has worked personally with Tom on high profile projects in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Orlando and South Padre Island for close to 5 years now. Humberto is a living definition of The American Dream.  He has achieved more in his life that he chooses not to have printed here as he is a humble man as well. He has been involved in several of our GNS training classes and can always see through a situation to find a solution.  We are proud to have Humberto carrying our name in the South Texas market.

Humberto quote: "A good salesman will always have a pen ready"

Tony DiBartolo - GNS Chicago / Mid-West

Tony DiBartolo comes from a long family line of  cement masons and followed in his father's foot steps in the early part of his career. Tony eventually moved into tile installation and progressed into the stone restoration industry. Tony always stays up to date on the latest technology in the stone restoration industry. Tony and his team in Chicago bring well over 45 years of experience and have been working with Tom McNall for over 5 years now.

Tony’s love of the stone restoration business is to make old, poorly installed  and chemically abused stone come to life again as the day it was installed. To him, every job is a form of his personal art.

Tony has lived in the Chicago area his whole life and stays busy raising his 3 children with his loving wife Sherry.

.Tony's quote: "If you can't replace it Restore it".

Great Northern’s Competitive Advantage

All our employees receive training of the highest standard. They not only learn how to do something, but why it should be done. They know stone and marble. It is their art. Working for Tom McNall, they can’t help it. His passion and know-how are what make Great Northern tick.

Great Northern Stone’s employees do the highest quality work because they are the best paid in the industry. That’s an incentive that makes them professional, dependable and trustworthy. And Great Northern Stone puts the best possible tools in their hands, so that they complete every job at standards above and beyond the norm. The best equipment, a motivated, expert workforce who love their work, and a no-excuses work ethic: these elements are all components of what makes Great Northern Stone the benchmark that the competition wishes it could attain.

We are not a janitorial company pretending to be a stone company. All we do is stone - we know stone!  Restoration of stone takes a knowledge of stone.  Would you want the oil change kid working at the local garage doing an overhaul on your Escalade?

Nor are we a franchise. This means that we did not pay someone tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars to sell us quick fix packaged solutions that may only work on only 10% of the stone problems out there. In addition, franchise stone care companies do not receive the training needed (or promised them) and must also submit 10% (or more) of sales to the head office for the "right" to use a catchy name and their so-called "high end accounts" as references. Yes, that is correct.  A franchise company will use other people's references and claim them as their own. So the big name customer that was serviced by the local franchise in Los Angeles, now becomes the customer of the "new" kid on the block in Walla Walla.

You can rest assured that when Great Northern Stone tells you that we serviced a customer it was actually us that serviced them. We do not take someone's money, give them 3 days of training, a 1-800 hotline and send them out as "experts" with a list of "supposed" past clients to impress unwitting homeowners. We would never send someone with only 3 days training out to oversee a job as important as yours to pretend to know what they are doing.  Our crew chiefs require a minimum 2 years of apprenticeship with us (or recognized companies) before they are allowed to oversee even a grout cleaning, let alone a restoration of stone.
